NEED HELP? FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

ABOUT THE PRODUCT

How do I clean my terracotta products?

Gently rinse with warm water and use a soft brush if needed. Avoid soap as natural clay can absorb it. Let your items air-dry completely before reuse.

Can I use my terracotta items with hot or cold liquids?

Yes, they are perfect for room-temperature or mildly warm contents. Avoid sudden temperature changes to prevent cracks.

Are these products safe for food and drink?

Absolutely. All our terracotta products are 100% natural, non-toxic, and safe for everyday use.

How should I store terracotta products when not in use?

Keep in a cool, dry place and ensure items are completely dry before storing.

Why does terracotta sometimes feel slightly porous or damp?

Clay is naturally porous, which may allow slight moisture. This is part of its charm and helps keep contents fresh.

How can I prevent odors or mold?

Ensure items dry fully between uses. For any residual smell, rinse with a mild lemon or vinegar solution.

Can terracotta be microwaved or put in a dishwasher?

No. Hand wash only. Terracotta is designed for natural, sustainable use and may crack under extreme heat.

Can I store liquids other than water in them?

Terracotta bottles are best suited for water. Using acidic or strong-flavored drinks like juice, coffee, or tea may change the taste over time, as the porous clay can absorb flavors. To keep your bottle fresh, it’s best to use it only for water.

Does water leak from clay bottles? Why does it sometimes seep out?

Water seeping from clay bottles is completely normal and not a leak. This happens because of the natural porous structure of clay:

  • Porous Nature: Tiny pores in the clay allow small amounts of water to pass through to the outer surface.
  • Natural Cooling: This seepage actually helps cool the water. As water reaches the surface and evaporates, it absorbs heat, keeping the water inside naturally cooler.
  • Quality of Clay: The amount of seepage depends on the clay’s quality, density, and firing process. Well-fired, high-quality clay reduces seepage while retaining the cooling effect.
  • Unsealed Surface: Traditional clay bottles are often unglazed or lightly treated to preserve their natural properties, which can lead to some seepage.

A little water on the outside is a feature, not a flaw it’s how clay naturally keeps your water fresh and cool.
